Zhe Hu earned her Ph.D. in Veterinary Medicine from China Agricultural University in 2020, specializing in avian influenza virus research, zoonotic infectious diseases, and exploring how vaccine immune pressure drives viral genome evolution. Zhe work also delved into the mechanisms behind pathogenic transmission and the development of attenuated vaccines, while gaining extensive experience in advanced virology techniques.
In 2021, Zhe joined the NIH/NIAID/LVD/CBS as a postdoctoral researcher, where I completed a three-year postdoctoral program. During this time, Zhe had the opportunity to contribute to key projects, including the development of chimeric coronaviruses for virology studies, a surrogate SARS-CoV-2 virus for immunological assays, and a mucosal vaccine candidate for COVID-19.
In 2024, Zhe joined the Ragon Institute, where her research now focuses on the exciting field of Pan-alphavirus T cell vaccine development.
