Aljawharah is a recipient of the Ibn Rushd fellowship from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology and a research fellow in the Gaiha lab. She received a BS in Biochemistry from King Saud University and an MS in Microbiology and Immunology from Georgetown University. She completed her D.Phil degree in Clinical Medicine at the University of Oxford, focusing on the evolution and role of NK and CD8 T cells during acute HIV-1 infection and emerging SARS-CoV-2 infection. Driven by her interest in HIV-1 immunology, she joined the Gaiha lab to study vaccine-induced T cell responses. Outside of the lab, Aljawharah enjoys watching soccer, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
