She/Her/Hers

Aarthi is an MD student in the Health Sciences and Technology program (HST) at Harvard Medical School and MIT. She completed her B.S. and M.S. in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry at Yale University, where she worked in the lab of Dr. Joan Steitz. Her research in the Steitz lab focused on investigating the role of noncoding RNAs in the regulation of the interferon-mediated immune response.

In the Gaiha lab, Aarthi is working on the development of soluble T cell receptor therapeutics for the treatment of HIV and other diseases. She is interested in rational therapeutic design directly informed by differential patient responses to disease. Outside of the lab, she enjoys dancing, reading, and exploring coffee shops around Boston.
